Miss’d America introduces inclusive eligibility criteria

The Miss’d America Organization is proud to announce that, effective immediately, any person assigned male at birth is welcome to compete in the Miss’d America pageant. The use of hormones, silicone or other forms of body augmentation will not preclude participation in the contest.

Previously, there was some confusion about the permissibility of this due to the language of our patent. This was reflected in statements made on behalf of the Miss’d America Organization last year. We apologize for these statements and take ownership of the impact they have had on members of our community. We strive to support and celebrate all LGBTQIA+ people and are committed to affirming the identity of every member of this family.

In Miss’d America’s early years, before it had formal regulations, the pageant had a number of trans winners. In the spirit of greater inclusivity and to honor our history, we would like to formally open up the pageant to the trans and non-binary members of our community. We have updated the official contestant packet to reflect this change.

We are looking forward to a brighter, more inclusive future and invite you to join us for the pageant’s triumphant return in 2021.
